Traditional manifestation `Businessman of the Year` took place in Nis City Hall. The 14th award ceremony for the most successful traders and businessmen in the Region was organized by the Council of associations of traders and clusters of South - east Serbia as respectable representative of the Sector of small and medium enterprises in Serbian south east. President of Palilula Municipality, Boban Dzunic, was also present at the award ceremony. Palilula Municipality was the first in the Region to adopt the Strategy of development of small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurship in Municipality 2009-2013. In the cooperation with LEDIB programme of the Republic of Denmark, Palilula Municipality, formed the Center for entrepreneurship and Project Center, as a support to local ecologic development and sector of small and medium enterprises.

According to the Jury the award Grand Prix this year goes to JUGOIMPEX NIS, D KOMPANI BABUSNICA, JUMIS NIS, DAIRY FACTORY LAZAR, BLACE.Award Great gold plaque goes to RESOR, LOVOPROMET, PUTINZENJERING, MLIN TIMOTIJEVIC DOO BLACE, MIKOTERM DOO NISKA BANJA, CLUSTER ZELENI BIZNIS KADEMIJA LT, KAMELEON SVRLJIG, THE DAIRY OF NIS, NOVA POBEDA SVRLJIG, AGROGRADNJA COMPANY, SMAJ PRODUKT.

Gold plaque for the Annual manager award goes to Vujadin Scekic, owner of Jugoimpeks company, and Gold plaque for the Most successful businessman in the last year for the reached results in economy goes to Dragan Ciric, owner of D Company.

Within the ceremony, the awards - Gold plaques were also given to the journalists who, during the past year with success followed the work of small, medium and big enterprises in Nis and in the South east of Serbia. The awards to best individuals and collectives in the sphere of economy were given by PhD Zoran Perisic, Mayor of the City of Nis.

The aim of this traditional manifestation, according to the organizers words, is promotion of the sector of small and medium enterprises in Serbian South east, as promotion of entrepreneurship spirit in the time of economical crises. This manifestation is unique support to traders in local self government in their efforts to create better business climate, attract more investors, so that more work posts could be opened and prevent the emigrations from the South east of Serbia.
